Can anyone please tell me what kind of pipe this is which I have
to cut
into? I don´t like cutting into pipes on a brand new bike without
knowing
what I´m actually doing. Do you think it is OK doing this?
The pipe in question is part of the idle-air circuit. As long as
you don't create any leaks when fitting the t-adaptor, you should
be fine. The valve on the Scottoiler won't vent atmosphere into
the circuit, so if it is properly installed you shouldn't have any
problem at all. If t does leak, the bike likely either wouldn't
start or would stall instead of idling. I don't see how either
condition could affect the longevity of the engine.
