In case anyone is interested I just ordered an Ohlins shock for my
ST. I ordered it from Wim Kroon in the Netherlands. The price, now
hold onto your pants was $667.00 with shipping !!!!!! Just as a
reference the US dealer cost is about $750.00 and US retail is
$1025.00 !!! if anyone is interested check out their site.
http://www.ohlins.nl/ Email Rita Kroon for prices and availability.
I had really considered the Penske but their least expensive shock is
$725.00 their best unit is almost $1100. and the Ohlins has much more
adjustability than the inexpensive Penske plus a remote adjustable
hydraulic preload adjuster. So the Ohlins was a no brainer.
Erik
PS: Part # is TR851 shock type is 46PRCS, also the standard weight
spring is 14kg I weigh 215lbs ready to ride so I went one heavier to
15kg I'll let everyone know how it works out when I get it installed
in a week or so.
