	German law, I think.  All big BMWs, Porsches, etc. are also limited to
155mph (250 kph).  Up until a couple (?) of years ago there was a 100bhp
(or maybe 100PS) limit on bikes in Germany.  It was finally repealed,
which was when (with much fanfare) the K1200RS was launched as the first
BMW (bike) to make more than 100bhp (PS, whatever).

	A BMW-phile I know once referred to the K1200RS as a "nutter sports
bike"!  Oh how we laughed!
