Should I?

I'm very so close to getting an ST. I just have to make the final
decision. I really wanted a clean '97 ZX-11, but can't find one. New
ones cost real money, and for almost the same real money, the ST seems
a lot more worthwhile.
I can get a brand new one for Just under $13k out the door with the 3
bags, heated grips, seat cowl, and paddock stand.
OR
I can get a well taken care of used '99 with 7k miles, panniers, and
heated grips on it for probably $10k out the door.
Or maybe I should just buy a lot of beer every month and think about
it.
I've ridden a Speed Triple and a 595, and since Triumph has forsaken
the 1982 Kawasaki frames, I'm very impressed with the bikes' fit and
finish. They seem really well screwed together. Is that just a first
impression? How are they, say, 7k miles later? Any known (or unknown)
problems that seem to crop up on these bikes?
If I can get enough feedback, I may ride to work Monday on an ST.
Maybe.
Thanks in advance for your input.
John
