Ok, for the more technical minded among us, the Epson 850z was mounted on a
Bogen 3221 tripod which was securely bungeed to the rear rack. The center
pole of the tripod was extended out just past the saddlebags. I set the
camera to take a picture every minute, and then just hoped for the best.
Between being a bit rusty from winter, and nervous about having my $1000
worth of camera gear hanging off of my bike, I didn't get too spirited,
especially since the roads were pretty slippery.
I'll try it again mouning the camera in a few other spots later when the
weather gets better. I still need to work some bugs out of it because most
of the shots showed way too much vibration. Shooting on a brighter day
would certainly help.
