But seriously, FWIW on a typical commute I wear a full face helmet, full perf 
competition weight leather jacket, "gauntlet" gloves, jeans and tennis shoes. 
Yes, I know my lower body is ill protected in this fashion, but it could be 
worse. I also carry a full ballistic nylon / kevlar suit for the rare cool 
weather or rain. We had a real frog strangler here Wednesday and I got caught 
in it. Almost the whole shebang: high wind, heavy rain, hail; just no 
tornadoes. Me and the ST survived just fine. I also have the Triumph GoreTex 
boots for when I know I'll be pushin' it or for traveling - like the rallye.
