Steve, I know you said that you had the problem once from a standing start,
but has it happened at any other time ?
I had a similar stalling problem on the 509, but it was not restricted to
cornering - it would happen usually as I was downshifting for a light or
corner. It was not too bad until I did it one night with wet roads - when I
popped out the clutch it just locked the back wheel and I started a really
nice sideways slide. The guy behind me had to swerve back out in traffic to
avoid T boning me .......
They tried a number of things but came down to two items for the fix. The
first was to up the idle percentage slightly - this reduced the frequency
of the problem, but did not eliminate it. The second was to adjust the CO
after testing with a gas analyzer - after doing this, the problem never
reappeared. I'm not sure if this would take care of your problem or not,
but it would be a good place to start. (and as both of these will require
the programming tool, a trip to the dealer would be required.)
