Rotating Tires

I usually smear a good liberal amount of Armor-All on the entire tire before rotating. Kidding!!!

Seriously, for those who lay up their bikes for winter, it is probably a good idea to get both tires off of the ground to eliminate the chance of developing "flat spots" on the tires from extended pressure being placed on one point of the tire for the entire winter season. An easy way to accomplish this can be to put the bike on the centerstand and suspend the front of the bike by its handlebars, using support framing in the garage to hold the weight, or use an other front end lifting device. Another way would be to use a rope between the grab-rail and a low anchor point. Or...just rotate the front tire a few degrees every week or so. This is easily done by hand by pulling up on the front of the tire, while the bike is on the centerstand...watch your back though!!!
